Musinsa Store is a large-scale select shop that brings together a curated range of notable domestic brands in a single space. In designing this environment, we first established several essential conditions that the space must fulfill. Every component needed to be compatible with one another and adaptable to different operational needs, and the overall construction and operation had to remain economically efficient while maintaining a high level of aesthetic refinement.
To achieve these objectives, we introduced a 300×300 modular system across the entire store. This framework allowed us to secure a minimum circulation width of 1,200 mm, while ensuring that the repetition of modules did not create a sense of congestion. The result is an intuitive and open floor layout that maintains clarity and spatial fluidity.
All fixtures were designed with millimeter-level precision to ensure complete compatibility. Base cabinets can be detached and installed on different units, and display components such as hang bars and shelves can be assembled or removed freely. When long-term wear or localized damage occurs, the system allows only the necessary parts to be separated and replaced, dramatically reducing maintenance cost and downtime.
Although such precision can naturally increase construction costs, we balanced this by designing high-stress components to be small and robust, while using common materials and simplified structures for parts that can withstand long-term use without issue. This approach eliminates unnecessary fabrication and excessive detailing, creating a system that maintains economic efficiency, durability, and aesthetic integrity in equal measure.
