TAP, TIME, TAP, VOLOA, 2025. 10. 24

We are pleased to present ⟪TAP, TIME, TAP⟫, an intimate exhibition on the Danish tapware brand VOLA.

VOLA introduced its first model at architect Arne Jacobsen's Danmarks Nationalbank (1968) — Jacobsen being a designer who moved fluidly between buildings, furniture, and objects. This architectural object was realized at the meeting point of the rational function and restrained formal beauty that Danish modernism pursued, and the sensibilities of industrial discipline and craft.

Through the tap — an object of everyday life — ⟪TAP, TIME, TAP⟫ explores how VOLA's function, systems, and craftsmanship, sustained since 1968, have evolved into a language of architecture.

The exhibition is built around aluminium pipes drawn from the very pipe specifications VOLA uses. The pipes stand upright in the space like the brand's own products, and from them hang nothing but the brochures made for the exhibition. The content of the show lives in these suspended brochures, so that moving through the space becomes, in itself, the act of reading a single object.
